2019 GB MASTERS . TYNEMET TIMEBOMBS WIN THEIR DIVISION !

Tynemet timebombs played their 3rd consecutive  GB masters in Manchester.

After last year's group D victory we were hoping to top it again.
We did, winning all of our games in Group C !!!!

A) With a team of 7 depleted by injury, we started the Saturday with a game at Bellevue against Plymouth raiders with a 10am tip.

We came out winners no thanks to Buster who shot well despite the previous evenings shenanigans

Quarter scores

Plymouth 12,4,7,5.   28

TyneMet 13,9,11,4.   39

B) Our next game v Hammersmith was a midday tip.

Another great start again from Buster Merrifield and Pape this time ensured a victory against the London team.

Scores

Hammersmith 14,10,11,5.     40

TyneMet          14,17,13,7.       51

C) Then back to the hotel freshen up for the Saturday evening trying to keeping it sensible for the Sunday and a couple managed it.

Sunday morning saw us tip at 10 again this time at Sugden (part of Manchester Uni.)

Against Pleasance of Edinburgh what turned out to be a easy victory but we really made it look hard at times.

Scores

Pleasance  6,8,6,4.    24

TyneMet.   16,5,14,6,   41

D) A short drive back over to Bellevue for a tip at 3, we watched a lot of basketball on 5 different courts and a lot of different ages and abilities.

We played Erkenwald of Oxford

We had met them before a few years previous coming out on top on that meeting.

But both teams has a different line up, and ours proved to be stronger than theirs.

A fantastic performance from Graham Pape hitting 30 points including 4 three pointers put pay to them. Credit also to Barnsey and Christos who both put in great performances also

Final scores were

TyneMet    11,12,21,17.     61

Erkenwald. 14,8,14,15.     51

I think this was the biggest score of the weekend in the tournament playing 6 minute quarters.

E) All credit to all involved
