2020 AUGUST . STATEMENT FROM AREA AND TML REGARDING RTP ADVICE

Basketball England has issued a comprehensive range of Advice and Tools on its Website  ( available at https://www.basketballengland.co.uk/safeguarding/return-to-play-guidance/ )

Fundamental to this guidance is for every Club to appoint a Covid-19 Officer . ( would every Club in our Area please advise me as to who that is, thanks)

Venue facility providers and  Clubs must together be happy that you each have met your share of the Covid-19 Risk reductions before any indoor play under Level2 guidance takes place.

Basketball England , Northumberland Tyne& Wear Area , and Tynemet League will NOT be vetting, inspecting or approving your " Return to Play" .

We will continue to pass on all BE updated advice , and signpost useful sources of information, but without accepting liability for their content or application.

Would all Clubs in the Northumberland + Tyne& Wear Area please inform me of when/if they intend to hold their first indoor session, so that we can monitor the speed of RTP.

Return to inter-club competition still seems a long way off though.

We will be running a Webinar for all Tynemet Clubs to help further understand the RTP Level 2 guidance . We will be in contact soon with further information .

Take care, and thank you in advance for your co-operation.

and Malcolm Holmes , Joint Area +TML Covid-19 Officer
